Young R&B rising star Aleesha and multi-platinum producer Alizzz, come together to create ‘Myself Again’, an original track written and produced for Desigual’s SS19 campaign, shot in Miami during Art Basel.
Desigual Color House
The video for the track was shot in 72 hours in Miami at the Desigual Colour House, a co-creation space opened during Art Basel Miami 2018 where creatives, influencers and special guests had the opportunity to express their artistic vision without boundaries.
The film features an eclectic cast: Miranda Makaroff, Catalan artist Blanca Miró Skoudy, the queen of body painting Claudia Sahuquillo and the anti-model Marina Guindi. Jedet, Laura Vandall, Elena Bonamico, Martina Pinto, Alisa Ueno, Ayano Sasaki, Kira Abi Rafeh and Kaya Holl also joined them for Desigual’s unique Miami experience.
Aleesha
We got involved in the project a few weeks before the shoot in Miami and took care of the full music supervision and composition process. Desigual wanted to involve Alizzz for the production of the track and was looking for a signer that could deliver a good top-line as well as potentially feature in the campaign video. After some research, we decided without any doubt that Aleesha was the way to go. Her unquestionable talent, youth and unapologetic attitude, encapsulated everything the brand wanted to represent in the campaign and in exchange, Desigual provided Aleesha with the means, support and exposure to help her pursue her music career full-time and take her art to the next level.
Milestones like her performances at Primavera Sound and Sónar Festival in Barcelona, together with her feature in Highsnobiety, amongst other coverage, confirm that 2019 has been Aleesha’s breakthrough year and that the future is as bright as ever for the young star from Ibiza.
We also took care of all the legal and contractual elements related to the music production and exploitation. In addition, we liaised between Aleesha and Desigual throughout the negotiation process and during the shooting in Miami.
Myself Again
Art, femininity and freedom have always been part of Desigual's DNA. The Spanish brand has constantly experimented, pushed the boundaries and, together with young R&B singer Aleesha, launched a call to creativity: ‘Myself Again’. The track produced by Alizzz is more than a song, it is an invitation to believe in yourself and an ode to those who despite all the prejudices, trials and tribulations of life, fight to be themselves and bring out their inner artist without fear or inhibition.
